When our founder Ron “Kelly” Kellogg introduced the Kelly Klosure reusable panel and locking key system to the construction industry in 1968, he also introduced a new way of approaching weather protection solutions. Since that time, Kelly’s “Classic System” panels have been re-configured and re-used by contractors for multiple weather protection requirements from simple masonry wall enclosures to movable hi-rise enclosures. The innovation continued with the development of Kelly’s panelized re-locatable buildings. With that innovation in steel panel technology, project managers had a system that was not only able to meet structural building codes, but is also, by the concept of the panelized design, capable of being efficiently relocated, in one piece via crane or by dis-assembling the building and re-assembling at another site. The power industry continues to take advantage of the panelized concept for re-locatable, re-usable interior breakrooms in support of planned outages or utilizing removable roof sections for turbine storage. The fact that the system does not require structural columns or rigid frames makes it the ideal solution for penthouse HRSG Enclosures. Government Agencies utilize the speed of delivery, simplicity and speed of building assembly to reduce costs through do-it-yourself building assembly. When the Navy needed enclosures to cover catapult maintenance, they turned to the engineers at Kelly to develop a solution that would

  1. Be crane liftable in approximately 20’ wide x 30’ long enclosure sections,
  2. If a crane was not available the enclosure would need to be able to be jacked up and rolled on deck by four crewmen
  3. Due to limited space at the shipyard, the 20’ wide x 30’ long enclosure sections would have to be stackable to as many as 6 high and the system must be durable for multiple uses!

The engineers and panelized Kelly System met each challenge! .......and so the idea’s and the innovations continue! We welcome the opportunity to work with you, to meet your building or enclosure challenge!
