General

To get started we thought we'd post some frequently asked questions from our customers. Let's start with some general questions in our first three posts, then we'll move on to a few posts on Engineering questions and wrap up with a series of Service questions.

So here we go.

How hard is it to move personnel doors?

It’s not difficult.  In most cases doors can be moved simply by unbolting and removing the door panel in question and switching it with a panel from the spot in the building you would like to move it to.

Are skylights fixed or operable?  Are they built in?

Kelly Klosure’s standard light-transmitting panels are built into the roof panels here in the factory and are fixed/inoperable.

Can I lift the entire roof or how big a section can be lifted at one time?

Let us know what you need.  In many cases the entire roof can be designed to be removed in one section, or we can set up your building with multiple sections that can be removed.  The limitation on how large the section can be lies more with the available crane equipment and space for setting the roof aside than with the building structure itself.

Does the building come with a floor?

No.  Floor panels are an optional item and are only included upon request.  A typical building installation would have a concrete slab for a floor.

Does the building have to go on concrete?

No.  The structural nature of a Kelly Klosure building provides a uniform load around the perimeter of the building allowing flexibility with foundation/base connection options.  The building can be placed on a base plate with earth anchors, or in very temporary situations a wood sill plate and guy wires.  Contact us for more information.

Can I set the building directly on the ground?

Yes.  Kelly Klosure can provide a base plate and earth anchors with the building allowing you to set the building up on the ground without a concrete foundation.

I need the building to go on a surface that I can’t penetrate with anchor bolts.  Is there any other way to anchor the building?

Yes, guy wires and deadmen can be used in lieu of penetrating the ground with anchor bolts.

Well, there you have it. The first of three general Q&A posts. Check back for more, or subscribe to our blog here.
